We've reached a huge milestone in the history of Dusty Strings with the completion of our 25,000th harp! This also represents an even bigger milestone: more than 45,000 instruments built since we began this crazy adventure in 1979. From our earliest days in the workshop to the present, every instrument has carried forward our commitment to craftsmanship, sound, and the musicians who bring them to life.
We decided to mark this occasion by making a special FH36S with the most highly-figured wood we had available. The soundbox, neck, and pillar are made from richly figured "waterfall" bubinga, and the soundboard veneer is "bird's-eye" maple, framed in stunningly iridescent abalone inlay. Harp #25000 is special not only because of its number, but because it embodies everything we’ve learned over decades of building harps. Each instrument that leaves our shop is the result of countless design refinements, skilled hands, and careful listening, and this harp is no exception.
Not only is it visually dazzling, it has the same incredible sound we've come to love.
