Dusty Strings Harp and Hammered Dulcimer Makers logo(206) 634-1656

Updates: We have just migrated our website and have some details to clean up, so please pardon the mess! We’d also like to ask for your patience if we are slower than usual to respond to orders, emails, and phone calls. We are still dealing with the challenges of operating a manufacturing business safely during COVID, and we are working with limited staff capacity. Thank you!

We've got a new harp model in the works, and are slowly dropping hints before we reveal the full details. If you missed them on Facebook or Instagram, you can catch up here! We are still testing prototypes, and we hope to be ready to reveal most of the details by the time we get to the Somerset Folk Harp Festival (virtual) in late July.

Before you get too excited, this is a sneak-sneak preview of things that are hopefully yet to come on the lightweight Dusty harp front. This would be phase two of our project, and there's still a lot of work to go before we can even be sure the concept is going to fly. (It does look like it could fly, though, right?)

Harp on scale showing 18 lbs.

You’ve all been so patient with our mysterious hints, and we’ve been having so much fun reading all of your insightful deductions! It’s hard for us to feel confident talking about a harp design we haven’t finished testing yet, but it’s also hard to keep it entirely a secret when we’re so excited about it. So even though we don’t yet have all the details nailed down, wanted to give you some real information to chew on while you wait for the full story. In case you are having as much fun as we are with the detective thing, feel free to stop reading here and see what you can figure out from the photo! If you’re tired of being strung along (we don’t blame you!), scroll down for a decrypted explanation.

The photo shows the bottom end of a solid walnut 34-string staveback harp weighing in at 18 pounds on the scale. Could there be a lighter-weight version in the works as well? Who can say?
