We will be closed for the holidays on December 25th and 26th and January 1st. We wish you good cheer and beautiful music!

AVAILABLE FOR PRE-RELEASE RESERVATION: The Performance Stand is in the final stages of development. The introductory price will be $345. We expect to start filling orders this summer, and if you'd like to be first on the list, we encourage you to place a non-binding ($0) order to reserve your spot. This will help us judge which configurations to prioritize, and we will contact those with reservations before opening up orders to the general public.

There are many reasons a harpist might want to stand and play, and not just because it looks cool! It can make you visible to audience members in the back. It can save you from having to tote around a stool or a bench. It can help with breath support if you sing while you play. It can save your back if sitting is difficult. It can enable bedside playing or moving around a hospital. It can put you on the same level as your band-mates and give your body the freedom to rock out with your instrument. The Performance Stand is our answer to many customer requests over the years.
Can I use this with any other models of harp? Unfortunately no. The stand's function and security are dependent on specific features that are built into the bases of the specific Dusty harps listed above. Furthermore, it's designed around the balance point of these models, and might not be as stable with other shapes of harp.
What if I have multiple Dusty harps i want to use the stand with?
We sell complete stands, and we also sell the legs and the interface plates separately. You can mix and match the parts with a single foot, making the stand adaptable to different heights and to different harps (provided they are in the list of models above).
Will the harp tip over? The harp will balance on the stand on its own. That being said, harps are top-heavy, and the further they are from the ground, the more vulnerable they are to being knocked over. So we recommend taking care to keep it away from children, pets, drunk wedding guests, etc.
Do I tilt the harp back to play? You certainly can, and many people do. If you find the right balance point, it'll feel just like it does when you're sitting. Some people prefer not to tilt it at all, and simply walk up to the harp as it sits upright on the stand. It's your choice!
Which height of stand is right for me? There is a vast array of different preferences for how high the harp sits relative to the player, as well as whether someone prefers to tilt the harp back on their shoulder or have it standing freely upright. This means we can't provide a formula simply based on the player's height and harp model. Instead, there are some example photos above and some information here to help you decide for yourself which stand is right for you.
We suggest finding a table or stool that you can set your harp on to mock up the most comfortable height and to determine whether you prefer the harp free-standing or leaning on your shoulder. Then you can use the example photos and the information above to figure out the best choice of legs. If you realize after trying them that you made the wrong choice, you can return just the legs and exchange them for a different height. (Our return policy applies)
Does the stand fit in the pocket of the CE26 or CD26 case? Though it fits in the pocket of our 34-string harp case, it unfortunately does not fit in the pocket of the 26-string harp cases. However, it is easy to carry separately when bundled and strapped together, or you might choose not to disassemble it at all if you want to have the speediest setup possible.
