We make all of our tuning wrenches with an eight-point star tip (rather than a square tip), which allows you to seat the wrench on the square end of the tuning pin in less than one-eighth of a turn and makes the process just a little faster and easier. We've engineered the tip to be .004" larger than the pin, just enough to seat easily but tight enough to prevent tuning pin wear.
Note: Our standard and custom tuning wrenches are sized for Dusty Strings harps, and generally do not fit harps by other makers. The universal wrench is adjustable; see description below.
Check out the Dusty Duo Tune, which combines an electronic tuner with our ergonomic custom tuning wrench so everything you need to tune your harp can be held in one hand.

for Dusty Strings harps
Shaped for comfort and precision control, these wrenches combine the leverage of a gooseneck wrench with the greater direct-pressure capability of a T-wrench (necessary to tighten and re-seat taper pins). A sheath of clear plastic around the shank extends just beyond the tip to prevent accidental dents. Beautifully handcrafted in maple or bubinga, this wrench has a star tip that fits all Dusty Strings harps. It is included with all of the FH harp models.
adjusts to fit any harp
This extremely useful wrench has an easily adjustable tip that will fit the tuning pins on any harp. Pedal harps, lever harps, even antique harps can now all be tuned with the same wrench. No more searching for a source for a lost wrench! No more using wrenches that almost fit! No more chewing up your tuning pins with socket wrenches or pliers! Using the same ergonomic handle as our bubinga custom harp wrench, the Universal Wrench is comfortable in the hand, looks great, and works like a charm. (Due to export regulations, Universal Wrenches shipped outside the U.S. will be made of maple instead of bubinga.)
Note: Standard harp tuning pins go all the way through the neck of the harp and stick out on both sides. Some harps (Harpsicles are a good example) use zither pins instead, which only stick out on one side. The Universal harp wrench will not work well with zither pins, although our hammered dulcimer wrenches will!
