The L.R. Baggs Para Acoustic D.I. is both a preamp with EQ and a direct-in box. The preamp will boost the amount of signal going to your amplifier, allowing for a cleaner sound with a wider volume range. This is especially useful if you have a small or inexpensive amplifier. You'll also have easy control over the EQ, so you can fine-tune the balance across the range of your harp. The XLR DI output is useful for connecting a Hi-Z 1/4" cable to a PA system, which will typically have Lo-Z XLR inputs. You may need this feature if you are using the Dusty Harp Pickup and regularly need to plug into a PA instead of an amplifier.
